This fully-washed Bourbon variety comes from the village of Bahire in the Ngozi Province of northern Burundi. “Bahire” means be well in Kirundi—and after one sip of this coffee, you’ll understand just how fitting that name really is.
For years, coffees from this region have quietly outperformed their neighbors in cupping scores. But it wasn’t until our partners at JNP Coffee embarked on a rigorous sourcing journey—separating and sampling every lot from the region—that they uncovered the source of this excellence: Bahire.
The difference? It’s all in the terroir. The combination of high altitude, nutrient-rich soil, and ideal climate conditions create a cup that’s deeply expressive, clean, and full of character. It’s the kind of coffee that invites you to slow down and savor—not just the flavor, but the care and craft behind it.
