Exploring Coffee Culture: Introducing Our First-Ever Robusta Brew - Gregorys Coffee

Our Coffee Culture Program

Coffee has been a part of human culture for over a thousand years, with countless unique ways to brew it across the globe. From pour-overs to bunsen burners, and sweetened condensed milk to cardamom, every culture brings its own spin on this beloved beverage. At Gregorys, we embrace these diverse traditions and aim to share them with our customers.

In 2025, we're launching our Culture Coffee program to celebrate the many ways coffee is enjoyed worldwide. We're starting with our first-ever Robusta coffee, brewed in the traditional Vietnamese style with sweetened condensed milk, and rich notes of toasted basmati rice and cashews.

Robusta: The Underdog of Coffee Is Back

For the past fifty years, Robusta has been misunderstood, often dismissed as the low-grade coffee filling cheap cans at the supermarket. It was the coffee you hid behind syrups and milky drinks, a bean with a bad reputation. While it’s long been embraced in Italy, particularly in espresso blends, Robusta is now making a comeback—thanks to advancements in processing, especially in places like Vietnam.

At Gregorys, our mission is to see coffee differently and share that vision with our customers. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our first-ever Robusta coffee as part of our Culture Coffee program in 2025. This new initiative celebrates the diverse ways coffee is prepared around the world, and Robusta is a key part of that journey. We’re embracing this underdog coffee to show how it can offer something unique: sweet, savory, and complex flavors.

Our Robusta comes from Vietnam’s Dak Lak region, where the beans are roasted slow and low to enhance their rich body and distinctive flavors. Expect notes of toasted basmati rice, cocoa powder, and cashews. With double the caffeine of Arabica, it’s the perfect pick-me-up to energize your day.

Why Robusta?

Robusta is known for its bold, savory notes and low acidity. Its smooth, rich texture makes it an easy-drinking coffee that pairs beautifully with food. This coffee offers a distinct alternative to traditional brews, perfect for those who are ready to explore new flavors.

Vietnamese Coffee Drink – cà phê sữa đá

Vietnam has been growing coffee since the 1800s, and today it’s the second-largest coffee producer in the world. Traditionally, Robusta beans were roasted dark and paired with sweetened condensed milk to create a rich, balanced flavor. We’ve elevated this classic drink with our single-origin Robusta, bringing out smooth, savory notes that make it a true standout.

At Gregorys, we love embracing the unexpected, and we’re proud to be #ProBusta. Ready to try something new? Join us in celebrating Robusta—this underdog coffee is finally getting its moment.
